Often our ice machines appear to be not running when the temperature outside drops. If your ice machine is in a cold area of your kitchen your machine may not be working at all. If the ambient temperature in your kitchen is below 55′ you will need to install some kind of additional heat in this area. Many ice machines use bin thermostats to control the bin level … or turn off the machine when the bin is nearing its full capacity. If its too cold in your kitchen…the machine thinks the bin is full and will shut off.
